Construction output volume lessened by 3.4% year-on-year, and increased by 0.1% compared to the previous month
Construction output volume, based on raw data, lagged behind the previous year’s level by 3.4% in March 2025. Among the main construction groups the construction of buildings lessened by 0.1%, that of civil engineering by 8.9%. Based on seasonally and working day adjusted indices construction output was over the February 2025 level by 0.1%. Construction producer prices increased by 5.4% in the 1st quarter of 2025 compared to the same period of the previous year.
In March 2025 compared to the same month of the previous year:
Output in both main groups of construction decreased: the construction of buildings by 0.1%, that of civil engineering by 8.9%.
Among the divisions of construction, production volume grew by 27.8% in the construction of buildings, and by 1.8% in civil engineering. Production in specialised construction activities, having the largest weight in construction, decreased by 20.1%.
The volume of new contracts concluded went down by 27.3%, year-on-year. Within it the volume of contracts for the construction of buildings fell by 41.3% compared to the high base of the previous year, those for civil engineering works increased by 10.4%.
The volume of the end-of-March stock of contracts at construction enterprises was 3.8% higher than one year earlier, within it the volume of contracts was down by 14.7% for the construction of buildings and grew by 20.7% for civil engineering works compared to March 2024.
In the first three months of 2025 compared to the same period of the previous year:
Construction output volume decreased by 5.7% .
Construction Producer Prices:
Within the divisions of construction, prices increased in the 1st quarter of 2025 equally by 6.0% in civil engineering and in the in the greatest weight carrying specialized construction activities, and went up by 4.1% in the construction of buildings, compared to the 1st quarter of 2024.
Construction producer prices were 2.2% higher than in the 4th quarter of 2024.
